Adicted to wedding cake

By Arthur Webster of Ask Old Coot

Adding up the years, I can say that I have been married for 43 years.

The longest time that I can remember not being married is seven months.

Now I will be the first to accept that I am not a particularly romantic person, nor am I especially loveable. I'm sure some here will agree that I am often positively hateful - so why have I been able to enjoy four marriages?

The first thing I will admit is that I make rapid commitments to people. My early years gave me an insight into the human condition that had me accurately summing people up from the age of seven.

Since I was never in a position to acquire possessions until I was working, the acquisitive gene seems to have been deactivated. 'Things' do not excite me. I have always been more than willing to give to anybody that needed help. In my first job as an articled clerk I handed over most of my wages to my parents. When I was in the RAF I set up an allotment so that they would not see a drop in income simply because I left home.

Maybe this aspect of me counters many of my bad points?

Despite my success, I have never been able to discover what it is that attracts the ladies nor why I seem to fall in love very quickly - all I can say is that I spend my time being me so it must be me that they like.

And I am really grateful!

addicted to wedding Cake would be a better Title, but besides the spelling interesting outlook. I too enjoy wedding Cake, but more the taking pictures of than the cutting of.

Well spotted!

Most of my recent intels have been graded low without comments so I set that little trap to see how many were actually reading what I said.

Adict has fallen out of use and should have been correctly used "adicted for wedding cake" - the word indicates a degree of tolerant forgiveness as opposed to big brother 'indict' that demonstrates an accusation in law for a tort or illegal act.

You are lucky yours are actually being graded...

Oh. I wasn't aware the situation was generally poor. What is going on, I wonder.

I have an intel thats been in the system for 48 hours and another waiting in the queue. If this is the kind of response that I am getting I fear I may not bother. The one in the system has been screened by 5 people in 48 hours

I'm guessing the year of the photo was 1976. Am I anywhere close?

Sorry Andrew, that is the only wedding date that I can remember - 9th, January, 1991 or 9/1/91

Well, that shows how much I know about Fashion!
